Our story

The 80's

In the 80s, you could only buy vitamins in pharmacies. Hervé Le Lous founded Laboratoires Juva Santé, broke with convention and was the first to sell vitamins in supermarkets. He forged a new path, with a clear ambition: to offer everyone the opportunity of accessible and responsible health.

Juvamine was founded in 1987 and became the no.1 off-the-shelf multivitamin brand. A pioneer even in advertising, Juvamine had a bold slogan that went down in history and would be etched into the memory of generations of French people: “Si Juvabien, c’est Juvamine !”, meaning “If you are well (“si tu vas bien” in French), it’s Juvamine!”

The 90's

This success inspired Hervé Le Lous to open his own production facility in 1993. For its location he chose Forbach in the Lorraine area. In the same period, Juvamine began to sell abroad, marking the start of the company’s opening to international markets.

In 1997, Laboratoires Juva Santé pursued their aim by offering a first aid range for supermarkets, acquiring the Mercurochrome brand. Born in 1917, the brand with the little red bottle soothed the knees of millions of children in short trousers, followed by a plaster, “the plaster for heroes”.

In that same year, Laboratoires Juva Santé acquired Marie Rose. Marie Rose has been the expert in bringing “fragrant death to head lice” since 1934. Today, the brand offers a complete range of solutions against mosquitoes and head lice.

The present day

Mercurochrome has now extended its expertise to over a hundred specialised personal care products for the whole family.

Juvamine‘s signature has never changed but the brand has continued to innovate throughout its history. It creates unique, new product ranges for healthy people who want to stay that way. As the brand moves gradually towards a more natural approach , most of its catalogue now consists of herbal products.

    In the 80s, vitamins are only bought in pharmacy. Hervé Le Lous, founder of the brand, breaks the codes and proposes the 1ers vitamins available in large and medium surfaces.

    Juvamine turns the traditional advertising model upside down with a slogan that will go down in history. “Si Juvabien, c’est Juvamine!” and a brand new screening method: the triplet, which involves playing the advertisement 3 times in a row. The formula worked since the ad is etched into the memories of generations of French people.

  • Construction of the production site

    A historic pharmacy brand and a helper to mums since 1934, Marie Rose was the expert in bringing “fragrant death to head lice” at the time.
    Nowadays, the brand has expanded its range and offers solutions against mosquitoes and head lice, available in supermarkets.
